1 loaf French bread (at least partially whole wheat), cut in half, lengthwise
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
1 tsp. pepper
1 cup prepared spaghetti sauce
2 oz. mozzarella cheese, shredded
Brown onion, garlic, and pepper in nonstick cooking spray. Stir in spaghetti sauce. Heat until bubbly.
Spread sauce mixture over both halves of the French bread and top with sliced tomatoes and cheese.
Broil 6 inches under broiler until cheese is melted and slightly brown. Slice and serve.
